Textile mulch is a specially developed lightweight surface covering material for use in gardening and landscaping. The black fiber polypropylene material is resistant to ultraviolet radiation and compounds found in the soil. The fabric prevents the growth of weeds and also accelerates the rooting of young plants, as it keeps the soil moist and warm. Textile mulch can also be used to separate different soil layers, for example between drainage and substrate in a flower bed. In a planting area covered with textile mulch, the soil remains fluffier than in a bed covered with a bed carpet or geotextile. The rough surface of the textile mulch prevents snails and slugs from operating between plants. Depending on the place of use, it lasts 5-6 years.<\/p>\n
The fabric is spread on the prepared soil and planting holes are cut with a sharp knife, the edges are fixed either with soil or with special fixing forks. In landscaping, the area around the plants can be covered with bark or decorative gravel.<\/p>\n
