Oats

Oats are an annual fast-growing cereal crop. A great cover crop. Oat biomass slowly decomposes, leaving a protective layer of mulch on the ground and soil loosened by the roots by spring. Also suitable for sowing in a greenhouse
Oat ‘Kalle’ is a variety bred in Estonia, which is well suited for organic farming. A variety with very good adaptability and sufficiently long straw.

Manual

As a cover crop, it is sown immediately after the early main crop (peas, beans, early potatoes) is ready and harvested. It can also be sown in late summer, after harvesting the main crop. After fall frost, it’s biomass breaks down relatively slowly, and by spring a nice layer of mulch is on the ground.It is also suitable for sowing in a greenhouse, it can be sown until the beginning of October, in warm autumn even until the end of October.
