Crimson Clover

Crimson clover or Italian clover is an annual clover. It differs from other types of clover for its decorativeness. It is a great cover crop, decorative and honey plant. Cover crops help to improve soil fertility and reduce weeds and pathogens. In addition, leguminous crops bind atmospheric nitrogen thanks to nodule bacteria on their root nodules, thus enriching the soil with nitrogen. Eye-catching crimson flowers make it suitable for various meadow mixes. It attracts both bees and butterflies to the garden. The height of the plant is 40-100 cm.

If it is grown as a decorative and honey plant, it must be sown in spring (in May). If you sow it later after the harvest crop (August – September), it will have no time to bloom.
